Siem Reap, Cambodia — 2006
L’École des Arts de Siem Reap is a music school and traditional Khmer dances for children of villages located in the archaeological site of Angkor. There was on site two buildings including a large room which has been divided by plywood partitions / furniture for music education. The new construction hosts an open room dedicated to dance and performances for the public upstairs, a foyer and reception ground floor. The floor consists of two trays can be used as stage and room during performances, covered by a large roof that protects from the sun and rain. The whole is finally made up only three elements: a base, a folded slab and a traditional tiled roof in fish scales.
