The garden behind the Institute buildings was almost abandoned, and access was very narrow. The institute wanted to improve the restaurant and take full advantage of the garden. A drainage system provided access in the garden in the rainy season, the ground was covered with gravel to absorb rainwater and plants have densified on the periphery, a mound of grass was installed for a walk and a play area for kids. The bookstore has been moved to the front for provide wide access to the garden and the restaurant which lodges at an angle around the existing bamboo massif.
